Central and South American Exports to China Reach $185 Billion in 2023

Central and South American exports to China surged from $5 billion in 2001 to $185 billion in 2023, growing at an annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18%. In 2023, China accounted for 23% of the region's total exports. Key export categories included soybeans ($40 billion), copper ores and concentrates ($36 billion), iron ores and concentrates ($23 billion), mineral fuels ($22 billion), meats ($12 billion), and copper and articles ($9 billion). These commodities represented 77% of total exports to China.
