From 2018 to 2023, China's share of the U.S. trade deficit dropped from 47% to 26%, while the combined deficit with Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam surged from 16% to 25%. Vietnam surged from 16% to 25%. Canada's share grew from 4% to 9%, and Mexico's from 9% to 14%.
