Trade among Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDEs) expanded eightfold (10% CAGR), from $1.7 trillion in 2001 to $14.0 trillion in 2023. During this period, the share of intra-EMDE trade as a proportion of total EMDE trade increased from 45% to 61%, while its share of world trade grew from 14% to 29%, underscoring the deepening economic interdependence and expanding trade ties among these economies.
